Bladesmithing symposium, knife show to be held July 15-17 in Auburn

AUBURN - Learning the skills necessary to forge a knife will be the subject of the third annual American Bladesmith Society "hammer in" New England Bladesmithing Symposium & Knife Show at the New England School of Metallurgy Friday morning through Sunday noon, July 15 to 17.

Demonstrations and workshops in blade forging and cutting will be performed throughout the event by Master Bladesmith certified by the ABS, Maine and several other states. The sessions are open to all for a registration fee of $ 55.

"Our conference shows someone who may be interested in a career in sustainable bladesmithing how to pursue this path, their skills and become certified ABS," says Dereck Glaser, goldsmith, program director at the school.
